Remember that Arabian of your childhood dreams? The one that lived in your Bedouin tent with you, carried you willingly over the dunes from oasis to oasis, always brought you home safe from your adventures... then nuzzled treats from your hands? That Arabian is alive and well and we call him Mardi Gras!

HT Mardi Gras passes on that wonderful temperament, as well as adding at least some of that flashy chrome to each of his offspring. Mardi is what's called a Parti-Colored Arabian, a purebred Arabian with pinto markings due to the Sabino gene.Mardi is listed with the Pinto Registry.

This gene, a recently recognized color pattern, shows variations from a minimal expression of white sock(s) and blazes all the way to the Medicine Hat, a totally white horse with a colored cap on the crown of the head and ears, and a spot at the base of the tail. While not all foals with the Sabino gene have pinto markings, concentrating this gene ultimatly results in wild, splashy coloring. Mardi has sired two pinto registerable foals from a solid colored mare exhibiting only one stocking and a blaze.

Gamble on color... but when you want an Arabian or Part Arabian with that legendary temperament, don't leave it to a toss of your coin... breed to HT Mardi Gras!

Mardi will stands for $400 LFG. Mardi has been collected and settled a mare successfully with on-site artificial insemination. He will be tested for shipping quality this coming spring. We will strive to keep collection and shipping costs to a minimum.

Mardi's wonderful color is a genetic inheritance from his sire, Fantasy Fashion. Urban legend has it that Fantasy Fashion and both of his parents were blood typed three times each to prove he was a purebred Arabian back when less was known about the ramifications of the Sabino gene.
